Jim Pemberton is a second-generation industry leader, trainer, and consultant with more than 45 years of experience in cleaning and restoration. As president of Pembertons Cleaning & Restoration Supply in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Jim has devoted his career to helping textile cleaners and restoration professionals improve their technical skill, confidence, and results in the field. Raised in a family business founded by his father, Lee Pemberton, in 1972, Jim developed a lifelong understanding of textile care through direct experience in dry cleaning, rug cleaning, commercial maintenance, and restoration work.

Known throughout the industry for his practical teaching style, Jim is especially recognized for his Fabric Pro Hands OnUpholstery Cleaning Workshop, an advanced training program focused on upholstery cleaning, stain removal, and solving the real-world problems cleaners face with delicate and challenging fabrics. He has also taught extensively in odor control, carpet cleaning, and hard-surface cleaning, with a long record of presenting seminars for associations, manufacturers, franchises, and independent professionals.

Jim’s work has always reflected a strong belief that education should be useful, honest, and grounded in real experience. Alongside his father, he helped publish The CleanTip, a widely respected weekly newsletter offering both technical and management guidance to cleaning professionals for more than two decades. That same commitment to research, training, and professional growth continues to define his work today and makes him a strong founding partner for the Textile Cleaning Research & Education Institute.
